The Smallest Change to REALLY Increase Your Fluency

What if one tiny change in your English could make you sound instantly more fluent? This would be simply changing the way you say one of the most common words in English: “to.”
From to → t'
When English speakers are relaxed, we don’t usually pronounce “to” with a full, strong vowel. Instead, we reduce it to the sound t' (or as linguists write, tə). You'll hear native speakers use t' 90% of the time or more.
I’m going t'work.
She went t'school.
We have t'finish this.
This happens naturally in fast, connected speech. It’s not laziness! It’s how fluent English really works.
Why This Matters
By reducing “to” to t' you do two things:
Sound more natural. You’ll match the rhythm native speakers use every day.
Save energy. You won’t be forcing full sounds where they don’t belong.
Try It Today
Pick sentences you may often use, like:
I need t'send an email.
It’s time t'leave.
He’s going t'explain.
Practice saying the t' combination smoothly yet relatively quickly.
It’s the smallest change—but it makes a big difference in how fluent and confident you sound!
